What if sex HADN’T complicated our relationship?

Waiting Matters... Because YOU Matter

If this young twenty-something female could send advice to herself in the past, this is what she’d say…

A letter to myself at 17… OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We need to talk about that awesome guy you’re seeing. I know you think you love him and in a way you do, but it’s not a forever kind of love. Not yet anyway. Maybe someday it could be—but only if you make better choices than I did.

Believe me, I know how romantic Brandon can be. He’s sweet. He’s kind.  And so hot. His kisses are like a drug you can’t get enough of. He tells you all the time he loves you. And you believe him. You can’t imagine life without him. What you can imagine—and you think about every day—is the two of you together through high school and a wedding somewhere down the road. That’s what you want to happen so…

Associations by Colin Powell

This Is A “Must Read“. I just named it “Associations”, don’t really know if that’s what it’s called but the content screamed that title at me. Enjoy Amigos! 🙂

The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve.
Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity.
An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with
negative thinking and negative acting people.
As you grow, your associates will change.
Some of your friends will not want you to go on.
They will want you to stay where they are.
Friends that don’t help you climb will want you to crawl.
Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream.
Those that don’t increase you will eventually decrease you.

Consider this:
Never receive counsel from unproductive people.
Never discuss your problems with someone incapable of contributing to
the solution, because those who never succeed themselves are always
first to tell you how.
Not everyone has a right to speak into your life.
You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange
ideas with the wrong person.
Don’t follow anyone who’s not going anywhere.

With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it.
Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of
life.
Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships.
If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.
“A mirror reflects a man’s face, but what he is really like is shown
by the kind of friends he chooses.”
The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with
whom you closely associate – for the good and the bad.

Note: Be not mistaken.
This is applicable to family as well as friends.
Yes…do love, appreciate and be thankful for your family, for they
will always be your family no matter what.
Just know that they are human first and though they are family to
you, they may be a friend to someone else and will fit somewhere in
the criteria above.

“In Prosperity Our Friends Know Us.
In Adversity We Know Our Friends.”

“Never make someone a priority when you are only an option for them.”

“If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the
habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.”

Dear Daughter,

“My Dad sent this to me a few days back. He didn’t write all the words himself though I’d like to think he did. There is something about words, the word Legacy comes to mind. “

Dear Daughter,

I am writing this to you for 3 reasons:

1. Life, fortune and mishaps are unpredictable, nobody knows how long he/she lives. Some words are better said early.

2. I am your father, and if I don’t tell you these, no one else will.

3. What is written is my own personal experiences that perhaps could save you a lot of unnecessary heartaches.

Remember the following as you go through life:

1. Do not bear grudge towards those who are not good to you. No one has responsibility of treating you well, except your mum & I.

To those who are good to you treasure them & be thankful. Also you must be cautious. Everyone has a motive for every move. When a person is good to you, it does not mean he really likes you. Be careful, do not hastily regard the person as a real friend.

2. No one & nothing is indispensable.

Once you understand this idea, it would be easier for you to go through life when people around you do not want you anymore, or when you lose what/who you love most.

3. Life is short.

When you waste your life today, tomorrow you would find that life is leaving you. The earlier you treasure your life, the better you enjoy life.

4.Love (lust) is a transient feeling. It fades with time & with mood.

If your so called loved one leaves you, be patient. Time will wash away your aches & sadness.

Do not exaggerate beauty & sweetness of love, and do not exaggerate sadness of falling out of love.

5. A lot of successful people did not receive a good education, that does not mean that you can be successful by not studying hard!

Whatever knowledge you gain is your weapon in life.

Men can go from rags to riches, but one has to start from some rags!

6. I do not expect you to financially support me when I am old.

Neither would I financially support your whole life. My responsibility as a supporter ends when you are grown up. After that, you decide whether you want to travel in a public transport or in your limousine, whether rich or poor.

7. You must honour your words, but do not expect others to honour theirs. You can be good to people, but do not expect people to be good to you.

If you do not understand this, you would end up with unnecessary troubles.

8. No matter how much time I have with you, let us treasure the time we have together. We do not know if we would meet again in our next moment.

9.Death is inevitable, so live your life as if you are prepared to depart this world the next moment.

10. Give back to the society more than what you have acquired from it and you prepare a good ground for the upcoming ones, especially your own blood.

There are two ways to life, you can choose to be good or bad but your conscience will always judge even when no one is there.

Live a fair life and never be in a haste to judge anyone.
