Beautifully and wonderfully made,
Not the perfect flawless magazine kind of beauty,
An earthy natural beauty that flawed all the other sorts,
She was not the most beautiful girl you’ve ever seen,
But beautiful anyway.
They say, “Learning To Love Yourself Is The Greatest Love Of All”
They said right.
People let her know how beautiful she was often
At times she’d feel beautiful
Other times she won’t just see it,
Always wondering what they saw.
Then she’d look at magazines, watch tv and she would see beauty
Or what society had painted beauty to be.
And she would pine for that look
That flawless skin,
Those legs; you know, the ones that go on “forever”,
The curves; ever so perfect not even the slightest giggle.
A beauty with curves soon became the shadow of herself,
She did not realize not everyone who wears a certain design rocks it
Everyone was not built to be skinny
Not everyone could have a flat tummy
In the a.m, a girl was rushed to ER
A shadow of summertime, cold and broken,
“1, 2, 3, charge !”. Silence. Summer gone. Yet to blossom again.
